He's terrible at dialogue. I'm finishing up ...Quite excellent suggestions. I'm finishing up a round of beta readers for my latest book and the above are all things I suggested when I sent it out to them. I think above all else what we writers want is honesty. If you love it that's great but if you didn't then why? The point of beta readers for me is a part of editing.
